Lisa joined the Operations department at Redwood Wealth Management in February 2018.
Lisa says many aspects of the financial planning industry remind her of her banking days in the 1990s. Back then, she worked for Metro Bank. Initially, she was a senior mortgage loan processor for their senior top-producer; however, she was quickly promoted to a mortgage underwriter.
In 1993, Lisa traded in that work for an entirely different kind of job – raising two children.
When her youngest was a freshman in high school, she decided to go back to school and earn an associate degree in healthcare management technology and a certificate in healthcare science. She had always been interested in the medical coding and billing components of healthcare. In addition, the structure and foundation were similar to mortgage banking in that they both have strong focuses on: compliance, regulations, problem-solving, research, and paying attention to details.
After earning her new degree, Lisa planned to seek a position in the healthcare industry. However, her family members who work in investment management encouraged her to consider their industry as well. Lisa agreed and is glad she did.
“As soon as I started the interview process with Redwood, I knew this was going to be my chosen career path. Looking back, I can say it was the right and best decision. I’m learning something new every day, and I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of working in this industry.”
Lisa resides in Suwanee, Georgia. She enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband Bill, their children Liam and Katie, and fur-baby Beau Riley. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, needlework, and reading.
